About the Journal

Dialogues in Qur’anic and Hadith Studies is an peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to critical and interdisciplinary scholarship on the Qur’an, Hadith, and Islamic textual traditions. The journal publishes original research that examines how Islamic sacred texts are interpreted, transmitted, contested, institutionalized, and lived across historical and contemporary Muslim societies.

The journal focuses on dialogical Qur’anic and Hadith studies, placing sacred texts in conversation with interpretive traditions, religious authority, social realities, digital transformation, ethical debates, manuscript culture, and global knowledge systems. It welcomes articles in Qur’anic studies, Hadith studies, tafsir, hadith criticism, Islamic hermeneutics, living Qur’an and Hadith, digital Islamic studies, manuscript studies, and Islamic intellectual history.

Dialogues in Qur’anic and Hadith Studies prioritizes articles with clear research problems, strong methodology, theoretical originality, careful use of sources, and significant contribution to international scholarship. The journal applies a rigorous double-blind peer review process and is published by Bahtera Al Fikr Press, part of Institut Bahtera Studi Islam.
