About the Journal

AL-USLUB: Journal of Islamic and Arabic Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the advancement of scholarly research in the fields of Islamic studies and Arabic language and literature. The journal provides a platform for the publication of high-quality, original, and interdisciplinary research that explores both classical and contemporary issues within Islamic thought and Arabic scholarship.

The term al-uslūb (الأسلوب), meaning “style” or “mode of expression,” reflects the journal’s distinctive focus on linguistic, textual, and stylistic analysis in Islamic and Arabic studies. The journal particularly emphasizes the role of the Arabic language as a medium of meaning construction in Islamic texts, while also encouraging the integration of traditional Islamic scholarship (turāth) with modern academic approaches, including linguistics, literary criticism, hermeneutics, and other interdisciplinary perspectives.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, Qur’anic studies, Hadith studies, Islamic thought, Arabic linguistics, Arabic literature (classical and modern), stylistics, discourse analysis, and interdisciplinary Islamic studies. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic integrity, originality, and methodological rigor.

Published by Bahtera Al Fikr Press, Institut Bahtera Studi Islam, AL-USLUB aspires to become a reputable international journal that contributes significantly to the development of Islamic and Arabic studies in both regional and global contexts.
